Outback’s civil and mechanics teams assisted a design-build project in Yosemite National Park requiring 100% helicopter access throughout the construction process. The remote, steep terrain demanded innovative logistics solutions and strict environmental compliance to protect sensitive park ecosystems.

Full Scope of Work
Foundation Engineering
- Design and installation of 67 LSP micropile foundations in steep, remote terrain
- Engineered flyable concrete baskets to control pour rates and reduce material waste
- Custom foundation designs accounting for variable slope angles and bedrock conditions
Helicopter-Supported Construction
- 100% helicopter access for all materials, equipment, and crew transport
- Coordinated flight schedules to maintain construction productivity while minimizing overflight impacts
- Flyable concrete basket system reduced costs and improved placement accuracy
Environmental & Regulatory Compliance
- All work performed in compliance with National Park Service environmental standards
- Minimized ground disturbance through air-access-only construction methodology
- Coordination with PGE environmental teams for monitoring and reporting
